• LIVE, LAUGH & ALWAYS PHOTOGRAPH.

Introducing Baby Pidg!  The newest addition to our family has arrived, Vivienne Leigh!  She was born on Sunday, June 25th at 4:19 pm, weighing 8lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long.  We had decided not to find out Baby Pidg’s gender so it was a great surprise when she arrived.  I had dreamt we would have a girl when I was about 4 or 5 months pregnant, but most people had been guessing that we were having a boy.  Finding out that day combined with those little ideas in our heads from talking to people made only added to our anticipation!

One of the best parts was that Sean got to announce the gender once Vivienne was born.  A friend has suggested this, and it was SUCH a great experience.  I can’t even describe that moment, because it is just crazy to love someone more than you could imagine from the very second you lay eyes on them.  She has changed our lives forever, and we can’t remember what life was like without her.

We are all adjusting to being a family of three, and loving every minute.  Vivienne just turned four weeks old this past Sunday and it’s flying by TOO FAST already!

Here are some quick snaps of our little cutie pie, and yes, she has a lot of hair!  I’m OBSESSED with it!!

*Please note that these photos are a mix of those taken with my camera and my phone.  I have been trying to be present and enjoy every moment with my daughter, and have no regrets so far.  I also have to admit to needing to adjust to being a first time mom!!!*

Thank you to IVF New England for making our dreams come true!

It’s time to share Baby Pidg’s Nursery now that it is complete.  It was a LOT of work but totally worth it.  Before, the room was a guest bedroom, office and collector of all of our stuff that we didn’t have a place for.  We started this project probably back in November.  We went  through everything in the room, either donating or getting rid of stuff.  Sean has always wanted to move the desk/office to the finished basement which meant we needed to go through the basement as well.  With Baby on the way, we had to get this project completed.  So this one room project turned into a WHOLE HOUSE project.  In the end I’m so happy with what we accomplished.  It felt so good to purge and organize!  It helped that we could get this done in the winter and not miss out on good weather weekends.  I didn’t take a photo before we started but did photograph the transformation of baby’s room.

We took a trip to Pottery Barn Kids the day after Christmas and purchased of all the furniture for the room.  We knew the rocking chair was going to be a bit longer but got the furniture in early February.  The rocking chair has been a nightmare but we got through it.  We protected everything and started painting the room, baseboard and trim around the windows.  It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do to a room.  As I mentioned before because it was winter, it was  the perfect time to work on this project.  Sean and I did it together.  After the fresh coat of paint we decided to replace the old looking electrical plugs.  Again, changing a small detail like that changes the whole room.  Before I forget, don’t pay attention to the rug.  Not our ideal color but we’ll make  it work for now.

A couple funny moments, we bought the whale wall decor 2+ years ago but never found the right place for it, until now.  Same thing with the nightstand lamp and wall box too.  Glad we can finally find a nice home for it and it works perfectly and matches the decor of the nursery.  This was a labor of  love and I’m excited that we finished it a week before our due date.  I wasn’t stressing about it but it’s just nice to know we are organized for when Baby comes home!  Enjoy!

Dear Baby Pidg,

Today, Friday, June 23, 2017 is your due date!  We cannot wait to meet you Baby!!!  We have been calling you Baby the whole time because we don’t know who you are yet.  We have officially finished setting up your room!  Can’t wait to show it to you!  You are loved by so many family, friends and coworkers.  We wrote every single person a personalized thank you card from you, for all of the generous gifts you received.  We are still currently organizing our home for your arrival, but there will always be things to do no matter what.  Mom to be is not stressing about it either, because it’s not healthy for you or her.  Dad to be is SO EXCITED to meet you and can’t wait to hold you/us.  He talks to you pretty much every day and when he does you always let him know you’re in there.  It’s really special.  He loves the high fives and kicks.  He even reads to you sometimes.  We both can’t wait to read all of your books to you.

We are patiently waiting for your grand entrance.  We know you will come when you are ready.  Mom to be is staying busy and resting her feet when she is tired.  Listening to what you are telling her.  Dad to be is helping take care of mommy and she can’t thank him enough for taking care of BOTH of us. I still can’t believe we are nearing the end and will be meeting you soon!  Mom to be will miss your kicks, high fives, elbows to the ribs and you dancing inside her belly.  We wanted to take this time to write to you and share our journey.  Reflecting over the past 9 months Baby Pidg!

We had to visit the doctor and needed some assistance.  So we had a lot of baby in a box delivered to our home.  We had to visit the doctor’s office a lot but it was so worth it.  Mommy tried to document a lot with dad’s encouragement and support.  We took pictures monthly up until we got to the halfway point.  Then we started taking pictures weekly to track you growing.  It’s so cool to see how much and how fast you grew!!!

We love you and can’t wait to meet you!

Xoxo Mom and Dad to Be

Transfer Day October 4, 2016

2 weeks- we had our first bloodwork appointment to find out good or bad news.  We were VERY fortunate to find out very good news on October 17, 2016!

7 weeks- we had our first ultrasound and got to see you for the first time!  You were very tiny but we could see you.  We found out your due date at this appointment.  The best part was hearing your heartbeat!  We had lots of happy tears that day.

8 weeks

13 weeks- I missed out 12 week photograph so we got a photo at 13 weeks instead.  At this point we started sharing the good news with our closest friends and family that you, Baby Pidg would be arriving in June!

Mr Pidg making an appearance.

16 weeks – at this point I was feeling movement/flutters but didn’t know it until week 18.  You made it known that you have been moving for awhile

20 weeks- we got to see you again at our second ultrasound!  You have a cute little nose and you were moving A LOT in mommy’s belly.  You made the ultrasound technician work hard to make sure everything looked good.

21 weeks

22 weeks- we had fun in the snow at night

22+ weeks we made it public to even more friends and you had your first appearance on my photography blog.

23 weeks

24 weeks- we started painting and working on your room which is why mommy is dressed down

25/26 weeks- Daddy checking out his baby bump too

27 weeks- I attended a workshop for my photography business.  I felt this was the real start to the baby bump and your Ashland aunties got to feel you move too!

28 weeks- love my mint colored dress.  Mommy loves this color, you will learn very soon!

29 weeks- baby, you started making your appearance

30 weeks- Easter weekend and we had a heat wave.  Mommy didn’t do so well but took it easy

31 weeks- baby bump is in full force growing.  Once I entered the third trimester, you went through a HUGE growth spurt. And we celebrated my birthday!

32 weeks- hard to find clothes to fit in without buying a whole new wardrobe but mommy managed.  Happy to see a growing baby bump.  Daddy is also being silly

33 weeks- your first trip to the beach!!!    It was a bit windy and cold but we had a few things to work on at the cottage.

34 weeks- you got showered with LOTS AND LOTS of gifts!  Mommy got dressed up for you and we also celebrated Mother’s Day.

35 weeks- mommy was still photographing.  She had a corporate event in Boston and we were testing the light.  Thanks Jessica for the photo

36 weeks- Memorial Day weekend!!!  Another trip to the beach

37 weeks- you better get used to our trips down to the beach house baby and future beach bum.  This was mommy’s LAST photography event she needed to photograph and a nice person made her this shirt which says “Yes, I’m pregnant, I’m due June 23rd.  No, you may not touch my stomach.”  Random strangers would touch my belly and I didn’t like that.

38 weeks- felt like the first official beach weekend of 2017 and mommy in a bathing suit.  Not comfortable at all but managed through.

39 weeks- it’s Father’s Day weekend!  We gave daddy a nice card and chipped in on his iPad gift so we can spend more time together at the beach house while he works remotely.

40 weeks- we are hoping you make an entrance but I’m being realistic and don’t think you will be here just yet, so we will take another photo and keep busy until you are ready!  Can’t wait to meet you!!!!!

When a client says they want a sunset engagement shoot, I know it’s going to be a good fit because as you know, that’s my favorite place to photograph!  I had an idea to go to Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA and they were on-board!  Jillian and Carl are high school sweethearts.  Jillian had always heard about Carl but it took a while for them to actually meet in person.  Once they did, well the rest is history!

Jillian and her family always travel to visit her dad’s family in Scotland.  Well, on this particular trip this past winter, Carl went to Scotland for the first time.  He thought it would be a great way for everyone to celebrate together so he proposed while they were on vacation!  Now that’s a dream vacation!!!

Jillian and Carl knew that they wanted to have their engagement shoot at the beach.  I had proposed Crane Beach in Ipswich, MA.  I’ve always wanted to photograph there and I was really excited that they trusted me and were up for going there as well.  It was a PERFECT sunset.  We had amazing light to work with!  We had so much fun throwing the football around, laughing and freezing our legs and feet off in the cold ocean water.  BUT it was all worth it.  I know your wedding is going to be one for the books!  I can’t wait until August 2018 to celebrate with you!  Enjoy some of my favorites.

I know it’s a perfect fit when a client wants to get up for a sunrise engagement shoot!  Jackie & Christian were dog sitting the weekend we scheduled their engagement shoot.  They were ALSO in the process of purchasing their first house together.  Congrats by the way!  Let’s just say it was a busy weekend but they were troopers for still wanting to step in front of my camera.  This gorgeous couple wanted to remember where they started as a couple and photograph in their neighborhood.  There were so many hidden gems there.  We had so much fun walking around Somerville together.

We started photographing their engagement shoot at Prospect Hill Park in Somerville.  We then wondered around, stopped by the busy streets of Union Square and then ended at a local coffee shop to warm up.  It was so fun to sit back and watch them interact as a couple.  They have so much fun together.

Jackie & Christian you are both lovable people!  I seriously cannot wait for your wedding day.  You are an amazing, caring couple.  I love how your engagement shoot describes you guys as a couple and now you will have great memories of your neighborhood for you to cherish.

September can’t come soon enough!  Enjoy some of my favorites!
