Sandy Beach | New England Maternity Shoot

I remember seeing Stephanie in line during college orientation, standing outside of the dorm at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.  Flashback to the good, old college years.  We were in the same major through school, and it was during college that she met her husband Jon.  We all have been fortunate enough to stay in touch for years now.  Now fast forward through seven years of marriage, two boys and another baby on the way for this gorgeous couple.  When Stephanie had contacted me about possibly setting up a time to do a maternity shoot, I knew this one would be the for the books.  She mentioned the beach and I was ALL IN!  A maternity shoot at Sandy Beach in Cohasset with a friend from college, and it’s actually the same location where their engagement photos were taken.  When I learned that this was always a dream of hers, I knew that this was also a dream shoot for me!  Stephanie and Jon are expecting a third child, a baby girl, due any day now.  Big brothers Aidan & Dylan are excited to meet their baby sister Addyson.

We met for an early morning session, 8am to be exact.  Stephanie you are a trooper and I do appreciate it.  Photographing early in the morning and late in the evening is the best time for lighting for photographers.  Some think that noon time is the best while it’s actually the hardest time to photograph.  It can be done, but it’s a little tricky.  Fortunately for Stephanie and I, the weather worked out great.  The temperatures were supposed to warm up that day.  It was cool at 8am but we had the sun in our favor.  When I arrived to the beach there was a little haze over the water which quickly burned off from the sun.  We had sunshine and good areas to photograph.  If you live in the New England area please take a trip to Sandy Beach in Cohasset, it’s beautiful.

The boys met up with us later on, and they were so excited to be at the beach!  Once we were done photographing and starting to say our goodbyes, the weather quickly changed.  Fog rolled in from the ocean, and while it was really cool to see we were thankful we had started so early in the morning.  I was on my way home and received a text from Stephanie saying the fog got even worse and the temperature dropped 10 degrees.  I couldn’t stop saying to her that it was meant to be!  Her dream came true!  Stephanie and Jon congrats, on the arrival of your daughter!  Can’t wait to meet her and I’m truly thankful for our friendship.

xoxo
